Recovery Resources

Recovery Resources is an affordable, individualized approach to the treatment of alcoholism, substance dependency, and accompanying family-related issues.

Recovery is the Mission

Recovery Resources is a privately owned and operated outpatient facility for the treatment of alcoholics, chemical dependents, and their families. Recovery Resources was established in 1999. It is owned and operated by Richard Thompson and Jerri Thompson, both CADC counselors with a combined 19 years of experience in the treatment of alcoholism and chemical dependency. The informed and qualified Recovery Resources staff is dedicated to providing affordable, individualized solutions to problems associated with alcohol and chemical dependency. The goal of Recovery Resources is to liberate sufferers from the chains of addiction and assist them in the process of rebuilding their lives.
Has your family life been disrupted or damaged due to problems with alcohol or drugs?
Alcoholism and drug addiction can have a devastating impact on families. It is no wonder that chemical dependency is often referred to as "the family disease." With family education, support groups, and treatment, Recovery Resources can help your family overcome the many issues that can often block a full family recovery.

Client-focused, Affordable Treatment

Experienced professionals assess the unique situation of each client to design an issue-specific treatment program that is responsive to the needs of each individual. An LCSW is on staff to assess additional treatment needs. When assessment indicates problems outside the realm of chemical dependency, referrals are made to appropriate professionals in other fields of treatment.
Treatment for chemical dependency is covered by most health insurance plans, but Recovery Resources will work to accommodate the unique financial circumstances of its uninsured clients. Fees are charged only for services provided. Initial consultation is free.

Additional Services

Assessment and Referral Services
Recovery Resources can provide DOT and court-ordered assessments and make appropriate referrals. A qualified LCSW is on staff to provide mental health assessments.
Career Development
An important element of your recovery may be to become self-supporting and independent. Recovery Resources will assist you in identifying your strengths and weaknesses, and help you develop a career plan. You will be shown how to produce an effective résumé, and you will learn both job search and interview skills.

How Can Recovery Resources Help You?

Are you seeking treatment for an alcohol or drug problem?
Co-dependency Group
After a thorough clinical assessment by a certified member of the Recovery Resources staff, you will be enrolled in a program suited to your recovery needs. Our treatment typically consists of a 12- to 26-week outpatient program that includes both didactic and process group sessions as well as weekly individual sessions. Relapse prevention will be constantly reinforced as you receive treatment for the disease of substance dependency. You will be taught the nature of the disease and trained to recognize your individual relapse warning signs. Involvement in 12-step recovery will enhance your treatment experience, and aftercare will be provided free of charge for six months.
Co-dependency issues can severely hinder a person's ability to form and maintain meaningful personal relationships. Recovery Resources co-dependency groups can help participants overcome the patterns of unhealthy relationships through education and self-exploration.

Have you been mandated to seek treatment for an alcohol or drug problem?
Recovery Resources has designed a program to assist you in complying with the terms of your parole or probation. You will receive the same quality care our other clients receive, but your treatment will also meet the requirements of HHSA, SASCA, Drug Court, and Recovery Court (Prop. 36). Our program is closely linked to sober living environments. If you are an SASCA participant who has completed an SATF program and meets the criteria set by OSAP, you can receive all Recovery Resource services, including six months of aftercare, at no cost to you.
Parenting Group
Parenting is a difficult task, especially in a family that has been scarred by the effects of chemical dependency. Our parenting groups teach effective-parenting skills to assist families in ending the cycle of confusion, chaos, and abuse that is so often characteristic of families afflicted with chemical dependency.
Adolescent Treatment
Rick Thompson has worked with adolescents for the past twelve years and has designed a treatment program specific to the needs of adolescents. Our treatment program for adolescents requires a minimum eight-week enrollment and includes education, process groups, family groups, and random drug testing. Our adolescent treatment program meets the requirements of most insurance companies.
Does your family need a professionally guided intervention?
If there is an alcoholic or addict in your family, you have no doubt been frustrated by numerous unsuccessful attempts to make that person aware of the actual extent of his or her problem. Often, an intervention is necessary to get the sufferer into treatment. If your situation requires an intervention, Recovery Resources can help. We will provide a safe environment and a trained professional to plan the event. Family members, friends, and close associates will then be guided in confronting the alcoholic or addict in your family with the realities of the illness and the effect it has had on family life, friendships, and workplace or business relationships. The goal of an intervention is to break through the wall of denial, create a true awareness of the problem, and guide the alcoholic or addict toward a solution.
Tobacco Education and Cessation
Recovery Resources designed this twelve-week tobacco education program to educate young people about the risks of tobacco use. It is presented in a classroom setting on school sites. The goal of this presentation is to prevent young people from becoming tobacco users and provide an incentive to quit for those who already use tobacco.
